Prior to Duke
Coach Bustin started her hockey career as a player at the University of Massachusetts, earning All-American and playing in the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games. After her collegiate and US hockey playing years, she was the assistant coach at Temple University from 1990-92 and Michigan State from 1992-97. In the fall of 1997 she was the head coach at Hofstra, but soon moved to coach at the University of Louisville from 1998-2010. At Louisville Bustin earned MAC Coach of the Year in 2001 and 2004, and Big East Coach of the Year in 2008. Bustin moved on to be the head coach at Duke in 2001.
